
The Trinidad & Tobago
Cultural Society of BC is inviting performers to submit requests
to participate at Caribbean Days Festival, to be held at beautiful
Waterfront Park in North Vancouver. This Festival is the largest
annual cultural festival of its kind in the province of BC.
Its appeal is broad-based and continues to grow each year, attracting
thousands and thousands of visitors over its two days.
Our goal includes heightening the awareness of Caribbean culture through our music, dance, arts etc., and providing exposure for our Caribbean artistes. We are looking for musicians and performers with Caribbean,
Afro/Caribbean, Afro Latin And Afro/World content, which will project the image and diversity of the Caribbean region. Performances to be awarded include our Open-air concert, indoor concert, dance hall stage, parade float and easy listening.
Please provide us with your promotional kit and any tapes or CDs. We may request an audition of your group.
Equipment provided: A complete sound system with a 32-channel board and back line gear. A professional sound engineer for the outdoor main stage (approx. 24 x 40) is available. Performers MUST provide any special equipment requirements.
Compensation: Performers are given HONORARIUMS which are funded primarily by a provincial gaming grant and the fundraising efforts (proceeds from concessions) of the T&T Cultural Society. There is no cover charge or entrance fee.
What to submit:
- Brief statement of your performance outline
- Bio/professional resume of your group
- Promotional photographs
- Two reviews (optional)
- A representative sample of your work
- Musicians: CD or tape
- Dance groups: one VHS videotape
